Building up the strength to master the l-sit is a matter of leverage - the long the lever, the more difficult the exercise. That’s why we start by only lifting your butt, then your legs with the knees tucked, then your legs partially extended and then finally straight. Eventually, we can bring our hands to the ground (it’s much easier with them elevated and I recommend you do that too at first).
