This pavement can absorb rain and it could help stop urban flooding! It’s a new material made by Aquipor Technologies in Washington State, designed to mimic soil to minimise the impacts of heavy rain in urban areas. The porous design allows it to absorb water which can then be slowly released over time, similar to the natural properties of the earth. The water is cleaned of pollutants as it filters through the concrete, allowing it to be deposited naturally into aquifers and replenish our water
