On July 4, 1944, 1st Lt Edwin H.Good (later Cpt) landed on Utah Beach with the 13th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division. Soon after, his men started to march towards the city of La Haye du Puits, Normandy that was held by the 90th and 82nd Division. During the month of June 1944, the two units had already suffered many casualties in previous combat.
