Teacup the gray crowned crane has a variety of different feather types. Her gorgeous sickle shaped feathers are my absolute favorites and water sits in little jeweled beads on top of them. Cranes are one of the most endangered families of birds on earth. Grey crowned cranes are found in east and Southern Africa. Teacup is not particularly fond of being a flock bird, as she used to live with a male. She frequently greets visitors and has a characteristic “Raol!” call that echoes around the ranch.
