This monk parakeet in Corpus Christi found a big piece for its communal stick nest. While normally quite noisy, this bird (but not its companions) was very quiet as it fought with its giant twig. What you are looking at is a monk parakeet nest. 列 Monk parakeets are noisy, social parrots; in fact, they are the only species of parrot that builds stick nests and nests colonially! They live in these massive nests all year.  On average, one contains about 20 chambers, but it can hold up to 200 nests!
