Remember these? Some of the oldest cars in the New York City subway system are headed for their final stop. First put into service in 1964, these R32’s were welcomed by New Yorkers, known for their fiberglass seats, spacious interiors, and an overall smoother ride. But times have changed, and these work horses of the subway fleet are being shipped by barge from Brooklyn to New Jersey.
