We are proud to announce the fourth featured aircraft of the 3rd Annual History & Heritage Race Series will be the C-124 Globemaster II! C-124s provided heavy airlift during the Korean War and Southeast Asia War. The C-124 evolved from the earlier Douglas C-74. To facilitate cargo handling, the C-124, or "Old Shakey" as it was affectionately known, featured "clamshell" loading doors, hydraulic ramps in the nose, and an elevator under the aft fuselage.
