Reconstructed Zonnebeke trench near Ypres in Belgium. By 1917, Germany was suffering a shortage of metal and jute. Hence trenches were constructed of hazel and willow wickerwork, which was cut in huge quantities behind the lines. This section is a replica of a trench near Wijtschate.
